1) It is a blatant lie that the majority of guns crimes in Mexico are the result of U.S. guns.
this is nothing more than an excuse to crack down on gun rights.
http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/front/6505651.html

2) if I were a soldier I would think twice about seeking the help of mental health providers as you stand a very good chance of losing your rights to buy guns forever.

Hell. If I were contemplating service in the military at all under this president, one would do well to think twice.

But also, don't forget, we have the eight years of the failure of Bush to blame for Obama getting elected.

GW was a major disaster and the republicans put up a shitty alternative. These rat fuckers work together.

protip; buy guns and ammo now while you can and learn how to cache them. Report what you buy as stolen knowing that possession of firearms and or ammo is likely to become a very serious, potentially capital offense.

So because Mexico has a gun fetish, we have to loose our rights to own guns?  Fuck that.

On a side note ; why exactly should we care if our guns make it into Mexico when they don't care if they're people make they're way here?

hmmmm, I know Texas is working on smuggling law to crack down on people taking guns and ammo into Mexico on a state level without attacking the rights of the citizens of Texas.  That should be all that is required.

Because Obama wants the Hispanic vote when he gives amnesty to all 12 million Mexicans (~57% of 20 million):

Two things...

The first article is addressing the illegal possession of guns.  I don't see a problem with enforcing gun laws.

The second article is from the GOA.  If you look at their stance on gun policy, they make the NRA look like liberals.  In other words, they're insane.

Do any of you read the news?  Seriously.  The majority of the guns in Mexico are from the US.  The reason is not what you think, however.  The US government gives extra military guns and ammo to Mexico.  Why, you ask?  I don't know.  But what happens is Mexicans join the military, grab some guns, desert, then sell them to gangs.  There's so much corruption, there are literally thousands of guns that once belonged to the Mexican military in the hands of criminals.  I'm not going to provide a source.  A Google search will yield hundreds of statistics on this subject.

Besides, restricting guns for the sake of Mexico is the lamest excuse I have heard yet.

Bingo.

The DEA and CIA funded swat type anti drug groups that promptly took the training and weapons and sold them to the highest bidder.

Good luck finding links about that.

Thank you for the alarm bells my friend.  Obama has actually backed off a bit on that.  Also a Supreme Court ruling striking down the DC handgun transpired.  But be vigilant.  Yes, stock up -but more importantly, save your brass and reload...

Do you have any idea how hard it is to desert with your weapon in the army?  I was active  duty army for 8 years, and have never seen it done.  I have known someone to try to smuggle out a pair of NVGs and another person try a NV weapon sight; both got caught.

As for the goverment to send arms to Mexico, I would assume they are slated for military or police use, and are 'diverted' into the open market by corrupt supply personnel in Mexico.

Maybe from the US military, but the police and military in Mexico, and Latin America in general, are so corrupt that it wouldn't be a daunting task by any means.

I can't comment on that, then.  For some reason, I thought he was talking about Mexicans coming up and joining the U.S. Army.  If he meant joining the mexican army, then I owe him an apology.
