It's such a bullshit game. The energy bill that just passed the house is a great example of the crap that goes on in DC. Peolsi knew that they had enough votes before the vote, so she told some Dems to vote against it. The Dems that have coal plants in their states (or those whose states would otherwise be hurt by the bill). This is so they can preserve votes in the next election. But if the party needed their vote they would have been loyal to the party. That's why we saw 50 Dems vote against it, giving the illusion of distension/disagreement.
