SourceAustralian Federal Police this afternoon revealed the email alleged to have been sent from Prime Ministerial adviser Andrew Charlton to
Treasury official Godwin Grech is a fake, following a raid on Mr Grech's home and Treasury offices.
While Mr Grech's evidence at first seemed damaging to Prime Minister Kevin Rudd, it is now creating more problems for Mr Turnbull, who Labor claims is deeply entangled in the dissemination of the fake email.
A link has emerged between Mr Turnbull's office and Mr Grech, with AFP reportedly keen to talk to Paul Lindwall, a former economic advisor to Mr Turnbull who previously worked at Treasury with Mr Grech.
Both Mr Lindwall and Mr Turnbull have denied any involvement with the fake email.
The matter is still under investigation, but if the Lindwall is linked to the email, bye bye Turnbull.
It was Grech who first brought up the email, supposedly which originated inside Treasury. Three seperate enquires found no trace of the email on Treasury staff computers, it's been proven to have not come from there, and Lindwall is atm the suspected "creator" of the document, and if so, he is linked to Turnbull (he was a former economic advisor) so Turnbull may be accused of masterminding the whole thing.
But as I said, investigations are continuing...
