Ok we all know its fun, Nadin' the fenced in area in front of the Hotel, Sniping unsuspecting soliders as they make their way across the bridge or even pointing the .50 cal on your APC down an alleyway and waiting for some unlucky guys to spawn and rip them to shreds. But in my Honest opinion this is nothing but point whoring and requires little skill and/or ability to accomplish.

Well why is this in the praise thread you ask, because Battlefield 2 is a great game and has so much more potential then that of round after round of Karkand.

This is why for about a month now i have been "Striking from Karkand" and playing the host of other maps the guys from EA and DICE offer. I feeel that I am experencing a completley new game and I also fell that I am enjoing it so much more. Yes, my days of consecutive 50-60 point games are few and far between but now I also fell that the game s no longer about points but just kickin' back and havin a blast with my buddies all over the BF2 world.

Will any of the other 24/7 Karkand/Urban guys follow me? I do not realy care but its just an idea I feel should be trown into the forums of BF2S.

Note: Yes I know my most played map is Karkand, I haven't been doing this forever!

karkand is my most played map too, but recently i've really been liking the PLA maps.

pre 1.2 i got really into zatar wetlands, a map which no one seems to like. that map was a pilots dream.

my most hated map (songhua) is actually a lot of fun. i love getting in the transports and flag hopping. i never get very many kills, but i always end with around 15-20 flag captures.

Good on you. Karkand is also my 'favourite' map, but that's just because I join servers which always seem to rotate to it. My real favourite map would be Sharqi Peninsular or Dalain Plant, which strangely enough were the first and second maps I ever played, (Dalian first in Singleplayer, then Sharqi in Multiplayer.)

As someone who does like to play a wide array of maps, I can truthfully say, you've made the right choice and will enjoy BF2 more because of it.

Lately if been playing Gulf of Oman a lot, wet dream for flying, Wake is starting to annoy me. But a couple of days ago i got banned from my favorite Oman server, called "9 rounds of Oman", because i was owning the admin in my helicopter WITHOUT co-pilot, he got pissed and banned me with the words: "go cheat somewhere else...."
Pretty lame if ya ask meh.

How about you go to their website, almost all of teh servers have them and kindly ask to be unbanned. I have a friend who whores a helo contantly and has been kicked for "cheating" aswell. I think he emailed the admin and got himself unbanned. Im sure it can work the same for you!

I love Strike From Karkand, it is by far my favorite map. I also enjoy Mashatur City, Gulf of Omen, and The Danang Oil Fields. I notice that lot of servers run Karkand near nonstop, but I don't mind. I can play that map all day and not get mad.

Sharqi, Wake, and Karkand. I like Karkand because infantry do so much work, but whoring and padders get to me sometimes.
Oman can be fun if it is balanced.

i was on a server the other day that said 'No Tanks or APCs'
and they took it VERY seriously.
i saw at least 15-20 kickvotes against people that used them and alot got kicked or banned.
eventually nobody used them and it opened up that map for me alot.
allowed me to get an insane amount of kills and points

Hmm.. Why dont you guys try the 24/7 Urban Maps?? For the people that like Wake... you must be in a plane to like it otherwise you get no points unless you find some dorks on the island.. WAKE became what I thought it would, a flight simulator as is Kubra, as is Clean Sweep, Smokescreen.. I have a restraining order on me when I get to an airfield -- If I am 500 ft from an airfield I will get tk'd..guaranteed. So those maps went by-by..it's too bad.. Wake was my 3 favorite..

I used to play Karkand alot. Now ive moved onto Mashtuur City cause there arent that many tanks and APC's. Just a few transport cars which arent that hard to bring down. If you see me playing Karkand, you will notice that im constanly riting, "@#$*ing armour/APC whores." It really pisses me off. There should be more of what ExquisiteDeth86 was talking about. Imdead, agreed.

well, since were talking about map hores, i am kinda getting tired of playing wake, (even tho i am an ace jet pilot,(as well as helis)) i just hate it when people come over the carrior and just bomb the shit out of it in thier jets, i mean comon! dont even give us a chance to get off it. and espically when ur trying to take off and some noob comes buy and guns u down (even tho he's probably not a noob ) i mean, how much skill does that take?!?!?!?!!?!?!??!??! anyway, i am getting a little tired of karkand also, im sad to say, (man i remember the good old days when it just came out and everyone was experimenting with the game, and everyone was a noob, but.....sigh, what can we do, there will always be those people who do the things that piss us off and are allowed to continue doing so.

Bah! Plane whore is just another name for good pilot IMO
Fighter pilots have one of the most important jobs in the game--Maintaning air dominance by firstly keeping enemy fighters down, and then bombers/choppers, who have the second most important job, which is to stop the advance of armor. If you can keep pressure off of choppers and bombers they become much more effective hunters and they can keep ground air defence at bay for you.

Also, I agree 100%....Strike from Karkand!
any one-map-24/7 server gets boaring after about 4 rounds

Then they are violating EA's RoE and can get their ranked server dropped from the list of ranked servers.
