Alright so I just bought a pimp 21.5" acer H213H 1080P LCD monitor for my systems, and tbh the included ONE WATT speakers suck dick, so i'm looking for a speaker system, 2.1-5.1 (maybe cheap 7.1 if possible?) that I can hook up to my xbox360 or ps3 (they both have optical and A/V open so really almost any speaker set should work with a 3.5mm converter if it doesn't have a a/v or digital output)

I've been looking at these

and the 530-Xs too, are they any good? any better recommendations? max price is gonna be $100, maybe $200 if i'm lucky (USD)

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
