An exponential number is in the form a^x. You had to state that x was increasing or a was increasing. It would be an exponentially increasing number for your theory to be true. Also, you state that 'the negative number increases over time', this contradicts the statement of 'becoming more un-funny the longer I live' if a negative number increases in size it becomes closer to 0. Not closer to minus infinity.

Look in the bottom right, never reaching zero or a positive number. That's kinda like you. Except this graph shows the number increases over time towards zero. As I said though, you're moving away from zero and the positives.
