Hi. Whenever my bf2 is loading the blue screen with lots of writing shows up for about 1 second, not giving me enough time to read it all, and then whole PC reboots. I don't think it's overheating because it only happens in bf2. Not sure if bf2 is overworking my 8800gt, though. This only happens when joining multiplayer servers.

I also tried single player and something very strange also occurs. It successfully loads, but I lose control of my mouse and keyboard, forcing me to alt-f4! Also, there is an annoying clicking noise coming from my speakers whenever a sound is made by the game, as if the clicking noise is part of the sounds, it's really annoying.

I am itching to play bf2 again, but the above problems is preventing me from playing it! Last week the game ran fine, and then all of a sudden it stopped working. I tried reinstalling GPU drivers, and reinstalling the game.

Please provide me with assistance at your convenience. Thank you.

EDIT: Here are my specs

CPU: AMD X2 5050E
GPU: ASUS EN8800GT
RAM: 2048MB DDR2
OS: WINDOWS XP PRO
MOBO: M3N78-VM (with integrated sound card)

Go to poolsclosed.net C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles (simply your BF2 folder in documents), delete all folders with numbers and try to run the game again

Hey it worked! I figured out the problem. For some reason my bf2 has to be played on my monitor's native resolution, which is 1440x900. The only annoying this is whenever I quit, I have to go back and delete the files found in C:\Users\xxx\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles or else it will go back to 800x600.

I added this line to the shortcut: +menu 1.15 +widescreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

Also that clicking noise persists -_-.

Try updating your graphics drivers, I think nvidia released one recently.
