Anyone have gone through the process and can give a detailed guide on how to get it? I have the Pandoras Battery and tried one of the guides on youtube for the magic memory but it isn't working. Please help.
I've seen guides on YouTube and they just seem way too complicated and overkill. I've done it myself using this guide and it was amazingly simple and quick. Do you have a slim PSP, or one of the older ones? This guide is for the slim PSP, at least the battery part. But you can find how to fix the battery at other places.
This is also another guide I've used, mainly for the PopStation stuff.
Good luck with your hacking and CFW adventures It can be a little bit frustrating at times, but the rewards are immensely (I don't know of any other portable console that let's you play PSP, PS1, NES, SNES, GB, and GBA games on it, watch movies/tv shows, listen to music [currently its main function in my life right now], and surf the internet wirelessly]).

I am a noob when it comes to the PSP but I am fairly sure I have the slim one lol (I never knew there where fat and slim versions). The UMD just pops open (there is no button) and the back is flat. I am fairly sure this is the slim PSP?mtb0minime wrote:
I've done it, and used to have an amazing guide bookmarked, too... but then I deleted it. I tried searching for it again and couldn't find it I'm pretty pissed off about it, too, because it was simple and told you exactly what you were doing in this process. I think you should google around and check out some guides, but the basic steps are:
1) Create a Pandora battery. I have a slim, so all I had to do was get a utility knife and cut a certain connection on the circuit board.
2) Create a magic memory stick. Can be done using "PSP Grader".
3) Download and install CFW.
Anyway. I got the pandora battery which was fairly easy to do.
I followed numerous guides on youtube for the magic memory stick. I got to the point where I made it through all the steps and it said congradulations you have magic memory and blah blah blah but after that I got confused and gave up then came to you guys to ask for some serious help.
So when I get magic memory I have custom firmwire? Or do I have to download it separately?
the guide I was using is this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lJm0njVK … re=related
(used this one because it was long and he doesn't seem like a little kid or mexican{not cause I am racist its just they are hard to listen to})
and I tried this guys guides but hes really fucking annoying to listen to

Creating a magic memory stick does not give you custom firmware. You have to download the CFW onto the memory stick (download it on your PC, then transfer) and then install it from there.
Just read the first guide I posted and eventually you'll get caught up and see what you have to do next. I used to be a noob at the PSP, too, but learned more about it from the two guides I posted. To be frank, YouTube videos don't teach you shit, it's just a bunch of kids telling you random crap without really explaining why.

Thanks a lot for the guide. It is very good and I am actually learning something!
But I have encountered an error when trying to run PSP Graded v0005. It says the application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135). Click on OK to terminate the application.
I googled and said something about it being a .net framework error. How do I correct this?

Hmm, I have no idea. I never had that happen
I guess try running Windows Update and see if there's a .NET Framework update available. Also, you don't need to run v0005 like he does in the guide, you can use the latest version. (I had to make another memory stick and used 6 or 7 and it worked fine).

It seems like a lot of hassle these days. Back with the earlier firmwares it was soooooooooooo easy. Put save file and firmware update on memory stick, load game, load save file (reverts to 1.5 firmware), run custom firmware update - job done.
Ya I wish it was easier. But I still think it well all be worth it. I am going to try updating windows and give the whole thing another try tonight.
i did it a while back using other methods. Easy as pie.
I have a "fat" PSP. Damn.
