Yeah you're right. I think, rather than trying to question their character over this, we should just acknowledge it as an attempt to make the thread more entertaining because, even though it's horrible to joke about something like that, every horrible story posted on a forum will have the same outcome: people saying "that's bad" or people trying to say something witty.
