Who here trusts 3dmark tests for answers?
I just did a change on my system and was shocked.
I went from a 2.66celeron D overclocked to 3.5... 3dmark 06'd at about 4200, with a cpu score of 942.
To a Pentium D 820 (which i bought mistakenly, only works 1 core in my machine), 2.8, overclocked to 3.5... and my 3dmark score dropped to 3900, and my cpu score was 950.
Something doesnt make sense.
Has anyone done back to back tests like such and noticed any issuses?
Both of these were on the latest drivers from nvidia.. ram at 550 up from 533, pci-e at 115mhz vs 100.
VC overclocked at about 550 core (from 450)and 780 ram (from 660).
Care to take a gander why going from a 533mhz bus cpu w/ 256k cache to a 800mhz bus cpu w/ 1mb (effectively) cache reduces the 3dmark score greatly and slightly increases (8 points?!) the cpu test mark?

I know i wasted money the minute I noticed it wasnt running in dual core.. but i would have expected going from the cele at 3.5 to a pentium at 3.5 to make a IMPROVEMENT.
Now im left wondering if 3dmark is a hoax...
