We're only limited to 125 until 16 here in the States.
Here's what I rode until I turned 16:

I'd say ride a beater for two years then buy a real bike at 21.

The GN125 was fairly cheap. The Honda cost a bit more, but I had a job.

Buy a junker 125 to learn your core skills then buy a better bike aftera year or so. I did it that way & don't regret it i went from this old Suzuki TS 125
to this R6, what a bike great fun

The Cagiva Mito comes a close second looks wise, the other little Italian sportster. Valentino Rossi's first bike too!
Ive owned both bikes, 97' RS in chesterfield rep, and a 99' Mito in red.
Reliability on the Mito is seriously bad, Aprilia I found to be pretty bombproof.
Restricted power on both is about ~15hp, which by LAW they have to be on CBT licenses, full power mito 35/ rs 33 ... plus old mito's are 7 speed.
Both easily hit an indicated 100mph.
Handling, Mito hands down, Looks Mito, But if ya dont really wanna spend a lot on a 125, and want loads of fun get a yammy DT125, shits and giggles + wheelies
oh and 2 stroke is the ONLY way to ride powerbands, expensive oil, and that AWESOME noise!!
RS250 FTW!
thats what I'll do if i can afford the money i need to buy a kawasaki ninja Zx6r or a Suzuki Gsx-600r. both are kick ass bikes just like the apriliaghettoperson wrote:
Because it won't sound like a lawnmower, and when you get your full licence you can de-restrict it and save yourself buying a new bike.

I still argue that an RS125 would be infinitely more fun to ride than a larger bike that has been restricted. Other than for bullshit macho posturing, restricting a large bike seems pointless.

They weigh a shit-load more than 125's, and I don't fancy riding a restriced bike for 2 years, when I can get a 125 and 33hp. (Yes, I know they have to be restricted, but you don't tell the insurance company that )greensprite wrote:
