I just bought a geforce 7800 gt co se 256mb pcie video card. Installed it and went to nvidia to get the new drivers and did all that.

When playing BF2 and putting the settings on Medium or High i begin to see little blinking white and black lines and boxes in the ground and on buildings etc....

Does anyone know what might be causing this to happen?
Do i need to change a setting somewhere?

I have:

amd 3800+ x2
1024mb ram
580 watt psu

Do you still have troubles? I would suggest, that you set AA and AF in the nvidia display driver window to "application controlled". Should work then...

Another explanation would be, that your graphics card is running hot. But you probably have checked that already. Sorry, no idea left...

Do you use any third party software to control the display settings? Like "nHancer "or something? I've got a simmliar card, and my settings are

AA - App. controlled
AF - App. controlled
Quality - high
Transparent AA - off
vSync - off
Tripple Buffer - forced

Thats mainly it. As for the third party programs. They sometimes overwrite your driver settings.

i have all that set

I talked to evga and they say it could be my psu ( could this be it or they bs ing me)

only thing that could be i think is if my +12 is running at that or

there are two power connectors and one goes directly to the psu and the other is hooked in with a small fine on the side of my case.  Could that be lowerin the power and cause what i've been told are artifacts?

i have a Powmax Demon 580W psu

You should have more than enough power, otherwise the graphics card would slow down. And you would get a message from your driver saying that your card doesn't get enough power. Would you mind posting a screenshot of the ingame artifacts? By the way, white lines on trees are pretty commom when using a sniper scope.

Oh, and disable that automatic overclocking in the nvidia driver, if you should have it enabled. That's what caused funny artifacts on my system.

yellow splotch and thick line across the side on the right

These are constant every couple seconds in different shapes and sizes thick lines thin lines.  Its not like unplayable but they like blink and are noticable.  Every once and awhile it will lock up completely and then come back after about 10 seconds or so.

I talked to evga and they said its most likely heat or bad memory in the card so they are going to cross ship me another.  I have sufficient air flow in the case so they may think its a botched card.
