If she was Roman Catholic, she can call on the Pope as a secondary option. If she was black, Rev. Jesse Jackson. If she was a single-mom with unfathered child, Maury Povich.

How is a violation of Laos' laws not Laos' business? She hasn't been accused of violating any UK crimes, has she?

The Laotian government should at least allow her to give birth and turn the child over to her family before they carry out any sentence (death or otherwise). One would think that the UK would pressure Laos to at least submit the case (after sentencing) to international scrutiny to ensure that the evidence met accepted criteria for authenticity. If it does, it sucks to be her...but stupid decisions can have significant consequences.
Yes, but shes still British nationality, Shouldn't she be judged in her own country? I thought it worked like that.

So who fucked her while she was incarcerated? And is she using the pregnancy as get out of a hanging?

Fuck her, deliver the child, put it up for adoption and off with her head.

No, it most certainly doesn't work that way.  Whether or not you are a citizen of another country, if you break the laws in another country, you are subject to their laws.

Hmm nationalism is dead in britian? I thoight the british members would be screaming for the SAS to go in. But your views om drugs would rather see one of your own die. Odd.

We would "send the SAS in" if she had been taken hostage by terrorists and she was actually worth something as a person.

Fact of the matter is, you break the law and get caught, you gotta pay for it.

As for the suggestion that someone at customs planted 640g of heroin on someone for not paying them a pissy little bribe is kinda ridiculous as that's a lot of dope to lose just to get someone fucked over for said bribe.

Guess your right moving drugs makes your life worthless and you deserve to have your skull blown open with a rifle round and your brains paint a wall. Then the child inside of you also deserves to die as the mothers dying body forces it out prematurely. Makes perfect enough sense. Now you would support one of your fellow country men being executed if they broke some absurd law about what type of food you can eat it in some backwards country? Or is it because she moved some powder around she deserves to die because you hate drugs?

oddly enough this is the sort of thing im covering in this fucking essay atm.

We, in the west have a different view on how things are and should be done.

Elsewhere in the world, it's different.

Do we have any right to tell them whats right or wrong? In our view, yes it's a stupid law. But nonetheless; it's their law. If someone came on holiday to the UK/US and broke a law, they'd be tried under the local law.

If she's guilty, and hopefully she isn't & gets a decent trial, then unfortunately she'll die.

btw, it's fairly common knowledge that countries in that area are VERY strict on drugs, and she will have been advised before travel.

Regardless I still think the country from which you hold citizenship owes it to you as a member to protect you and make sure you don't get killed by other countries regardless of the law.

if a guy from Laos came over, and murdered someone and was facing the chair, would you be fighting his corner?

I myself probably wouldn't, but I find murder to be far more reprehensible than drug smuggling.

Nay not if he killed an American. I'm speaking from a stand point of protecting your own citizens regardless of their actions.

Sure, risk good soldiers lives over someone who was stupid enough to try and take drugs through customs, in that part of the world.  You Sir, need to get your priorities right.

I don't think she should die for this, and I hope that the British government can pressure the Laotian government into a more lenient sentence.  The idea of sending the SAS in over something like this however, is just ridiculous.

How did she get that much money to get that much drugs in the first place. Works the same way yo. You never know, she mightve pissed someone off that's high up.
