I have touched on this subject in another forum here but have encounterd a new problem and need some help.

Recently my ati 9800pro died (turn pc on to see "no signal, going to sleep". Swapped it for a "Power Colour rad* 9550".  Have recently noticed other than a huge increase in lag and sometimes mountains going black and then various objects following suit. This may last for 2 seconds each object but carry on for 10 seconds. This has no consistancy whatsoever and dosent prolong as the game does.  Have been playing with the new card almost a week, approx, 20 hours.

I had the omega drivers installed after reading a guide reccomended at bf2s. I install the new 1.22 patch today load the game up and at the menu recieved the multicolour banding around the edge of menu boxes that I have seen before after patching.  At the "connecting to server" message the game freezes and I get the "No signal, going to sleep" message.  I then have to restart pc. Its just how it was before I replaced the graphics card however, the pc restarts fine where as it didn't and thats when I ditched the 9800.  I've already decided to upgrade the card but have to get one from the same store that I'm taking this one back to, they dont have a huge range, my budget is about £100 total.

Stats

Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz,  GA-8ISXT Gigabyte Technology Co.,      Corsair DDR-SDRAM PC3200 - 512 MBytes x1,  Infineon DDR-SDRAM PC2700 - 256 MBytes x2, (single channel), ATI (power colour) 9550 (agp), 35 gb free (80gb drive) WDC, xp sp1, 05.10 cat drivers

I have run adware etc recently and when I had the case open last week I got rid of the dust bunnys.

Why am I getting the Multicolour menu and then no signal?  Thankyou in advance for any help.

I've got a friend with a 9550, seems like they heat up rather fast, try to get more cool air or venting into your computer box.  Helps a bit with his.

I can get into the game now, I still have the "black" outs and will upgrade in both Ram and Video card.  Hope not to get the "no signal" message.
