That was one statement from the Messiah and Saviour Lord Barrack Obama from last nights big news conference. The adoring press pitched softballs last night.
Our Lord said the American auto companies needed help to deal with an economy where they sold 9 million units where the year before they had sold 14 million.
Is that not like a 25-30% drop in revenues? Man, everybody I know who is in business would call that a walk in the park compared to the 40-85% declines I am hearing about. Yet we are all too small to matter.

The real economy is not overweight day traders and corrupt ceo's pushing stocks around and trading in futures, it's the carpenters , IT guys networking small businesses and mechanics who go out and buy shit; boats, cars and trucks. These guys like to have fun and spend their money living life to the fullest. That's the main reason why many of the lower middle class which makes up the bulk of the American ended up living week to week. Costs a lot to buy a sand rail and trailer or a rock crawler.

NOW THE POINT:

This is a crisis of confidence. Our economy was not built on sand, it was built of FRAUD!!!

One massive ponzy scheme, from social security, to NASDAQ to Iraq.

The government operates on a " do as I say, not as I do " mandate. Anybody with children KNOWS what kind of people that produces.

The government was 100% responsible for the economic meltdown.
There was the lack of regulation that let and still lets credit card companies write convoluted contracts wherein the consumer only ever gets screwed. There was the fair housing act pushed by the repugnant barney frank and company. There was further lack of regulation as these low income mortgage loans spread like a fungus through the nation to all takers including illegal aliens. There was continued lack of regulation as these became commodities to be sliced and diced and sold to the international community.
There was the fraud of democrats leading the call for these questionable loans and then passing it off onto george bush.
There was the fraud of democrats funding the war on a limitless credit card that never was counted as part of the budget.
There was the fraud of republicans pretending to be conservatives while ramping up spending to historical levels.

The fraud continues; the tarp funds, the daily bailouts and government promises of temporary intervention in the direct day to day operations of businesses, the market and monetary manipulations to cause massive inflation as an escape hatch for trillions in debts. The same scoundrels who where writing ninja loans are now involved in home loan mod shops that are FRAUD! Lawyers advertise tax resolution services for tax debtors when any fool knows the IRS will do nothing but make payment plans with those who are in trouble. There is the FRAUD of solid banks like usbankcorp using tarp funds to consumer smaller banks and spread their tendrils farther with more and more branches funded by tax dollars.

And nothing but silence about these fundamental flaws from Our Lord and Savior.

That does not inspire confidence and the economy will remain in freefall until somebody in power forces these discussions to happen and people are put in jail for their crimes.

Our Lord promises the IMF will triple in size, and WHO nations are having their economies crippled by what may be a hoax flu scare.

Fractional reserve banking...  Isn't it lovely?

Not quite.  Banks in collusion with government are.

So everything is the fault of the government?
I thought it was all those people who overstretched themselves during the boom and snapped when the crunch came.

If the govt regulated it tighter everyone would be griping about that.

The government has gotten too big, we've lost our balance of Ying/Yang and it now needs to feed.. Remember Sales tax, mortgage tax and all the money that the government makes off of each transaction. That's why they're rushing to the aid of bailing out these companies?
