And we are the children of him, don't you think that he'd want us to grow up and move out of the basement?

Seriously there are some ridicules rules for almost ever religion.  Wouldn't you think that a god that created us in his own imagine would want us to grow and run our own lives?

Religions are made by man, not God. Man is imperfect, hence religions are imperfect.

One key thing you are missing is that God gave man freewill. That means that even though He created us in His image (as opposed to his imagine ), and He gave us a set of rules to live by (The Ten Commandments in Judaism and Christianity), He also gave us freewill...so we can choose to live by them or not and thus be judged for our personal choices when the time comes.

No such thing as free will. If our actions or our thoughts are created by chemical and electrical processes in response to our environment (also determined by non-random interactions) it must then be that our future is set.

If a God really does exist, then we simple Humans think WAY too highly of ourselves to be able to dictate and say what God wants of us, one can only assume at the very best. FEOS is my example here, look at how he talks like he just knows almost exactly like how God would want things. I personally think it's strange, then again who am I to say he (FEOS) is completely wrong as I'd then be sounding like I know the inner "thoughts" of such an omnipotent deity, all I'm saying is, we really don't know, and for humans to go around saying they do know, to such a ridiculous detail like some religions say, well you can't help but think "who the hell do they think they are? Bitch please.."

Where did I ever say that I "just know almost exactly like how God would want things"?

You're basically saying the same thing I did: humans are fallible, therefore, man-made things (like religion) are imperfect.

Maybe he doesnt like you.  Hell I dont like you (I dont know you), so there you go, God, and his creation in perfect unity tbh.

@OP, the religion vs God thing, is something most people cant seperate.

If you are going to make the argument that religions purpose, is for control, then fine.  It doesnt however make any argument as to whether or not God exists.  I could argue that Gods word was hijacked by satanists for the purposes of control, ala revelations on acid ending.

Although I think the argument the bible was written to control man is so epicly fucked up a position to take it's beyond defendable.

Your essentially arguying that the catholic church founders, came up with the idea, but did all the could to stop people reading the bible?  How the hell does that work?  Executions for people caught with scripture, and they where dragged kicking and screaming into the bible being translated into english.  Fuck, they did everything they could to stop man being aware of those texts..........

It's not even an entertaining conspiracy theroy to have which makes it even worse!

If God is real, then how do you know which interpretation is correct?  There are so many religions to pick from, and none of them have an evidence advantage.

It would seem like picking a faith is arbitrary.

Agnostic is the way to go. Some time ago I figured out it was foolish to assume that I could comprehend "God". Shit we even came up with the name god.

That would place a problem in the 'freewill' thing - mind you, although a lot of people like it (because it provides a simple, logical answer to the difficulties presented by the no-boundary theorem (in itself not proven, though it's mathematically 'nice' and also solves a lot of issues, not least of which is the reason for the Big Bang) and the Wheeler-Dewitt equation, which says that there is no such thing as "time" ), there isn't any proof and most likely never will be (because that would entail looking into a 4-dimensional universe, without time)

I get a kick out of people who believe "the lord provides" Instead of waiting for some thing to happen, MAKE it happen.
My perspective, people want a father-figure to always take care of them, maybe that is why Obama was glorified.
Any way, we all get in a bad jam in our lives so you are not alone. Regardless of your problems, the one thing you shouldn't do is overly invest in divine intervention.
