What bothers me the most is that there's already a frightening omen of misbalancing issues - if you look carefully at the logos in the soldiers' uniforms, you'll note that there's a resemblence with a known french automotive manufacturer. Now, knowing how much these cars suck in arctic environments nowadays, I figure that the team will have a huge disadvantage in 2142

Ok i watched the trailer. it looks , umm ok. nothing great. and certainly RUSHED.

i honeslty think if they are going the futuristic route. why not just wait and recreate a whole new game engine, not recyle bf2's engine with a few new bells and whistles. Ala bf:v

but anyway.

after playing the new elder scrolls for the past 5 days. Fucking awesome, fully engrossing game!

im really keen on the whole idea of BF:1442 or something. All medeival style. now that would be a bad ass game.

and 128 players , not 64

they needa wait 2 more years for a new engine to be coded. and put this out. or the new futurist idea. doesnt matter

but medieval FTW !serious

melee, with sword and shield
archer, bow and arrow
seige, with a ballista or some thing
cavalry, people with lances or swords on horse back (thx [Ahazi] Kaika)

Im not suggesting it to glorify a war or anything. Proceeds of the game sold could go to families who have lost loved ones during the recent war.

I appricate that some of the maps are Middle East based both city and open map however, Baghdad has some distinctions which if it wasn't for the tv I wouldnt know about.

I think I'm fortunate that the UK never appears in any of these "war" based games it means my country hasn't had the troubles that others have and when it did I wasn't around to experience it. Maybe MOH had some british levels on but in general it's usually German and French land your fighting on.

Im 30, and as mentioned above a Sci-fi shooter dosen't intrest me. (the post mentions 30 somethings) I won't be buying it but it will probably grow to be succesfull. As long as EA/DICE dont forget about BF2 I'm happy.

The whole idea of BF2 was that it would be similar to modern day conflicts, but without offending people. Besides, why limit the game to Iraq/Afgahnistan, and limit the game to fighting insurgents? It just wouldn't make sense. The insurgents over in Iraq are guerilla fighters, not an army. It's called assymetric warfare. It would not be a good game to release for online play.

I love futuristic stuff but in this case not so much. I know all there gonna do is change muzzleflashes to exotic colours, put in mechs, some hovering vehicles, perhaps a laser/railgun or some shit and pass it off as some future incarnation.

It'd be nice if they actually took a while to examine where current technology is going and at least try to be somewhat accurate instead of rehashing ideas that have been wh0red since 1980.

Hah! This is utterly insulting. Dice and their bug riddled code will not be able to compete against Quake Wars and UT 2007. This is completely out of their field.

Dont bite off more than you can chew Dice/EA (DEA)... because this is one battle you just wont win. Stick to correcting the many issues that still plague BF 2, before you decide to fly for another cash cow..

Well at first.. I sterotyped it to the rest of the futuristic games.. But seeing the videos looks pretty awesome, espcially the sound effects! Thoughs walking tanks seem rather cool! lol

I'm all open to new Battlefields.. But it's abit early, no? They need to give BF2 more time to be used.. As i believe when this is released, it will split the BF community into half!
