Cover design opinions.

So my head master asked me to do the cover design for the yearbook, and i'm almost finished.
Just wanted your opinions.
Sorry for the quality, the psd is over 256mb, and the png is over 10mb and the high jpg was 2mb so had to put quality medium.

I don't like it how you split the date.

Other than that it's brilliant. The "Mens Vol.. etc" bit is familiar.. was it used on Mirrors Edge or soemthing?

The cut out of the man is of a much lower resolution than the rest of the image and therefore doesn't look very good. I think this will be even more noticeable when printed.

The blue outline round the man makes the fact that you cut him out of another image obvious. It accentuates the poor cutting. The outline itself looks like an afterthought, though from a distance it looks good.

I take it his eyes aren't covered up in the real thing?

Other than that, it's pretty epic. Good job!

I like it, but the blue stroke around the man is too saturated. It needs to blend in better, tone it down a bit.

I'd agree. Make him fade in a bit more and it will be perfect.

Thanks for the comments.
I actually meant it to be lower quality because i wanted that kind of effect, thus the blue outline.
It looks really shit now because of the quality of the jpg, i had to put it at medium so it looks really shit.
and the text cut, yeah i don't know wether to use the normal one or this.

convert the photo of the guy into a photoshop brush... then choose a slightly darker color than the background of the cover and use the "guy photo brush" as a stamp... so like others have said... it will blend in... very cool design overall...
