I hate cops so much... perfect example of why here ^^
Sober enough to know what I'm doing, drunk enough to really enjoy doing it
Ask any cop why they became a cop, and I bet they'll tell you "I want to help people." Right?Jebus wrote:

I know a few people who are becoming cops "to fuck with people". But everyone hates police until they need one.King_County_Downy wrote:

I say to them, "If that's really true, why didn't you become a fireman?"
They like the power and the "respect" as they call it. I call it Bullshit.
90% of police work is writing speeding tickets and other types of "fun" policing. "Hold it right there, you fellas are having way too much fun over here!"
GAW! Don't get me started.... There is a need for police. But most of the time they're just power trippin' and profiling so they hopefully one day get that stripe.
tbh, most of them probs say because its a fuking JOB,it pays good and also because its fun due to power, respect or whatever you want to call it.King_County_Downy wrote:

Police are also investigators. Its their job to find the bad apple, so to speak. Anyway your right, if someone is not doing anything wrong, they should be left alone.King_County_Downy wrote:
Maybe they should be more onto the responding part and not trying to make shit go down all the time... Maybe leave the investigating to the investigators. Let the rest of the citizens be free.
Get a call, respond. Makes sense, no?
I've bet you've had a bad experience with a cop.King_County_Downy wrote:

Yeah, I've had plenty of bad experiences with cops.... I also have friends who are cops. I don't hate them all, just the ones looking for trouble when there is none. Some cops just thrive on being dicks. Abusing their power and trying to ruin people's lives.S3v3N wrote:

I became a cop because I wanted to serve the community and help people in need, the same reason I'm a Volunteer Firefighter and now a Paramedic (fuck that shit is hard). 2 years ago after obtaining my bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering I left Law Enforcement, for good.
90% of police work is dealing with stupid idiots that either drunk or higher than a fucking kite.
I wrote maybe 20 speeding tickets in 2 years. The majority of my "biscuits" (tickets) were for violence related crimes. I had better things to do than fuck with the youth of the town I patrolled in. I had better things to do than fuck with high schoolers that weren't wearing selt belts.
Yes there are the bad cops. They just happen to make the headlines and the videos on youtube. Sadly their actions give Law Enforcement the shitty end of the stick. You know there are bad firefighters and medics too.
They're even bad soldiers, marines, air force, navy blah bah fucking blah.
Fuck it, i'm not getting started with this shit.
I do have better things to do, like kill pirates on EVE.
It's the principle, the film maker was making a point_raab wrote:
Why the fuck does the "filmaker" have to be so difficult? be polite and switch the camera off for fucks sake. Who gives a fuck. They asked nicely. And when they ask for your name you give it to em.
Yeah the cops didn't do anything wrong at all. I was suprised at the film maker not the cops._raab wrote:

He's being an asshole. The cops were just curious as to why he was filming them. Nothing wrong with that.
I'm taught to refuse once but if he persists let him do his business then when it comes to the courts it will be unjust/invalid evidence and it will be dismissed. Good shit though.ATG wrote:

The cop told him to turn off his camera. That he'd committed an offense.
It was a lie, and the cameraman made the point brilliantly; the wankers weren't following any laws, they were being bossy bastards and were attempting to violate the citizens rights.
The irony is the fact that the cops have cameras everywhere on everybody and that is okay, but try and document police behavior and they get all pissed.
What are they afraid of?
I also loved the way the stupid fuckers slinked off after being informed the man was within his rights.
Also, if you are not suspected of any crime and there is no probable cause that there has been a crime the police have no business demanding to see your papers. You do NOT have to consent to a search in America and if you know you have done nothing polite refusal to comply may be the best tactic, just like the film demonstrated. It seems folks in England have similar rights as we do.

This may be incorrect, but I believe they should have also responded when he asked them for their names. Certainly if he had asked for their badge number, they must state it.ATG wrote:
