ok, i have just searched the forums and i didn't get a straight answer on how to set up widescreen for bf2.

I know that it does not support widescreen, but ihave heard that theres a hack or someway to get around it , can someone please show me how.

Go into My Documents>Battlefield 2> Profiles> 0001 >

Now Open up Video.con and look for the bit that says 1024X768 or summin like that.

Change that to a widescreen resolution of your choice

i tried that and all bf2 did was crash, i changed it to 1280 X 768.

I have also tried modding my bf2 shortcut command line and that works but my HUD and crossairs are still stretched can someone show me a hack around that or is not one.

http://tweakguides.com/ has a 9 page BF2 guide wich will answer your question and a million more.  If you are a hardcore gamer you need to have this site in your favorites folder as they cover a huge list of games and every tweak/optimization under the sun.

A really excellent site.

So having better hardware is cheating now? That is quite simply the most pathetic thing I have ever heard.

If you did not understand what i wrote them go back to school. Also I did not get a widescreen monitor to have an advantage over others in bf2, if i did i would have done research and know that bf2 did not support this feature. Finally I asked how to use widescreen because i do not want to have the graphics on bf2 stretched not how to gain advantage.

ok go here for info http://www.widescreengamingforum.com/fo … php?t=1030

it basically says to edit the .exe like you have done. this will allow you to play in widescreen. but as you did notice the 2D objects (compas etc) are streched, this cannot be fixed unless you play in standard 4:3. This is mainly due to the way ea have designed the 2d objects. i know i have not explained it well, but if you keep looking on that forum you will find a great explanation using call of duty

just one more question, do i actually see more of the picture or do i acutally see less. I have hears that bf2 only blows up the picture and crops it to fit my screen, is this true or does changing the command line to widescreen to fullscreen suppose to fix this.

Also can i edit the 2d objects or will punk buster kick me for it.
