You can try using a tool like Astra32.
too_money2007 you can view your system specs by googling the alienware model you have/looking on the site OR use tools to collect information about your PC. You can use dxdiag (Start > Run > Dxdiag) to view your system's specs, or for a bit less components but some general hardware info just use the device manager located in the control panel.
Word. I'll try that. I just want to see if it's possible to upgrade some components without going insane. I'm sure new ram would be great, and a new processor, but I'm not sure which I could get. And, I'm not sure if my video card can be upgraded on my current mobo.xGj wrote:

Mind if I post stats here and then you suggest if I can upgrade from there?
Just post it i'll have a look
Doesn't work for me, whenever i change my graphics off high all the objects disappear, even without this fix it still does it. Looks like I'm stuck playing high...
Those config files help things...wreck other things generally...
I play at 1680x1050 ALL HIGH no AA and get 33 fps in the GPU timedemo at same settings....
works for me..

Would I be able to run it?
2.4Ghz P4 Single Core 7600GT 2GB DDR RAM 667mhz?

You could of went to one of the topics made especially for this question... but yeah, you can run it, mostly low some medium.Funky_Finny wrote:

EDIT: Wait nevermind, thats a Single Core, Umm, your gonna be running all low and probably still lag at time with a lot of physics.

+1 xGj!! Nice thread. I used the first config link with: AMD Athlon 64 X2 @ 4400+ 2GB DDR2 7300GT 512MB RAM @ 1024x768 and got an average of 25fps on mostly Medium type settings.
Whereas before I was on all Low @ 800x600 @ ~25fps!
Worked a treat!

Good one, now go use my XConfig (Next version that is )
does this really work because i have a 8800GTS 320MB and P4 3.5GHZ and still cant get over 20FPS! I think my Pentium is the bottleneck
God where did xGj go, he was a cool guy.
And yes it does work, your Pentium is very likely the bottleneck on that card. What RAM?

Yeah I like xGj too, always put out some cool stuff.
Also, does anyone know if there's an XConfig that works (or was even created) for Warhead? I've tried searching around (admittedly not very much) and haven't found anything. It's kinda frustrating to see everyone saying how nice it is that Warhead performs better, but in my case, it's worse

Yeah, that guy's post didn't do too well a job at explaining what to do, nor was there a readme file. From what I gather, the different levels depend on your system. Higher level = better computer. I'm using 3, just to start things off, and it runs great, just like what XConfig did for the original Crysis. I suppose you could try them all out and see which one your system handles the best.Bradt3hleader wrote:

will this work even if you have a bottlenecked CPU?

Well thanks for the loving wordsmtb0minime wrote:

I'm not very active these days and kinda busy with other things in my life.. Just lurking around here sometimes. I see people do want a new version though, some good news is, I have vacation now. I won't promise anything but I can try and work on it and maybe someting will come out of it.
@PPSKevin
It should do some improvement as this is majorly graphics card dependant. About the actual bottleneck I can't do much ofcourse.
