It said apartments and a nearby school and care home were under lockdown.

A spokeswoman at a local hospital said at least one person was being treated for unspecified injuries.

"We're on full alert anticipating we're going to get additional casualties," Linda Miller said.

Reports said people had been hiding in the basement of the building and inside a storage room.

I was thinking of making the point, but this is a tragedy atm. In the past it'll more than likely be used for a reference, much as the VT killings are. Imagine someone piggybacking a story about Bloody Sunday etc on gun problems.

If the 9/11 attacks had only killed two office workers would America still be going on about it as much? When relatively large numbers of people die in specific instances it garners more media and public attention. I wouldn't have thought you'd need that spelt out for you.
