I agree, its an incredible chance that raw, unintellegent energy ended up turning itself into something that can study itself.
Thats something ive never thought of.

That is the main point, but communism is a TOTALITARIAN state, totalitarian states don't like religion it interferes with allegiances. For example Stalin cracked down on the Russian orthodox church in one of his purges.Flecco wrote:
@ Narupug, the idea behind Communism and to a certain extent its cousin Socialism is that the needs of the individual be sacrificed for the needs of the many.DesertFox- wrote:
In this day and age, it doesn't matter if you believe in God or not. You can still be a good Christian/other religious denomination regardless of if you propose the idea of the deity or don't---it's just not an important part, but the lessons of Jesus and such are.
Think about it, how many "religious" arguments are just stupid-ass "God v. no god" things?

Fyi, Stalin cracked down on everybody. He was just a cunt. Not seeing your point in general though. We know communism is a jealous system when it comes to belief.Narupug wrote:

They both propose fairly similar ideas, and thus one can't survive in the presence of another.

Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.
Only if you believe it to be that way. Being a Christian is working out for me. I have to be truthful I have been a bit shaky with it, but I do believe Christians in some way stray off in order to solidify their faith.chittydog wrote:

My personal philosophy is that Life, death, and everything in between is fricking awesome. It sounds corny, but I just love everything. I sometimes sound negative, but that's just because I enjoy arguing with people. The truth is, I love it. I believe that all forms of consciousness are just fractured parts of some giant universal consciousness, and that it is all joined together when you die. Hard to conceive maybe, but it makes good sense to me.

It's long (40 ish chapters) but it explains that the devil harms those who are innocent just as much as those who are guilty can be given everything. Life is not fair, but God is just and a better life in eternity awaits for those who follow Him.
That is the basis of what people think, yet we shouldn't be able think of the impossible of the afterlife and God in a material universe.Mitch wrote:

Bring on the hate.
In addition, I had tried to live my life in a meaningful way for many years. I tried to make my self a better person than I was in a lot of ways. I considered myself generous and kind. I gave money and time to those who needed them. I always felt like I could just keep getting better as a person and I would eventually reach that point where I fealt like I was doing the right thing and would be content with my existance. Never happened till I looked to God. I have never felt more fulfilled and at peace than I was dong something I felt led to do by God.LividBovine wrote:
God exists to me. He has answered prayers of mine and my families in very specific ways. If you are looking for god to prove his existance to you, you will never see his work. If you open your heart and let him guide you, you will see him very clearly. I do not believe that all prayers are answered. I believe for the most part that God will give you answers to things if you ask him with a open heart and mind.
Bring on the hate.
