Maybe? It's too late for maybe, it's already happened.

Think Flecco sums it up nicely ...

WTH ZOMG HAX LOL WE NEED TO THROW MONEY INTO THE SYSTEM OMG NOW WTF ...

Me think they rushed the whole process just for the sake of it rather than chilling down and attack the root of the problem ...

Lending money to a bank to get the bank working again really isn't the best problem solver ... loaning money to forward other loans is bad business and if not handled correctly will strengthen the problem in the long run aka not solving anything ...

Looking at the last newscats from the US they now counter a lack regulation with overregulation, I don't agree with Obama when he now puts major restrictions on day to day operations of the larger companies ... that will hamper growth imo ...

I'm expressing an opinion. Doesn't matter if it's already happened, I can still disagree. Expressing disagreement, malcontent and disbelief > blind loyalty. What happened to questioning the government Reaps?

Shit, at least when debating whether to totally fuck over an area's ecosystem the West seems to pause for thought as to the consequences and then they destroy the place, the Chinese just steamroller right ahead no worries. Are these the people we should be trusting with economic dominance? They got to where they are through what basically amounts to economic slave labor, ignoring the rules the international community laid down and underhanded tactics when it comes to trading.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

Post war Germany and Japan had massive injections of foreign investment from the US and UK, no one is in a position to do that for the US and the US is hardly in the position to do it for anyone else atm. If you want to learn anything it has to be from pre war Germany, ie. stop paying your debts and build shit, lots of shit like highways, railways, building, factories etc etc.
Pretty sure for that to be a decent long term solution a nation needs a war to wipe the debt slate clean via reparations from the losing state/states.

Where did his post go?

Read up on Canadas financial system. voted the best in the world. we ave very strict lending guidlines and whatnot. Canada will fare well against this.

We're expected to be the last into full recession and the first out. Read it in a Toronto Star article maybe 3 or 4 days ago. Good news all around though.

So to stop the recession we just have to do what Germany did?

annex Austria, annex Czechoslovakia, invade Poland, and invade Belgium?

Germany fixed its economy post WWI by building an army for WWII, they recovered from WWII with massive inflows of money from the west.

Germany doesn't have the economic might that China does, the country that Britain and America are relying on to lead them out of this global recession. Unless Germany has a few trillion tucked away, which they don't, what good are they?
Good point China is up there so is Russia, Russia is lending some of its land to China for timber and other natural resources

but yea they are investing a lot thinking that U.S. will pay them back with interest down the line but if U.S. plunders China may lose trillions...... so one of the reasons other countries may not be so willing to invest in U.S.
