First, tell us what kind of computer you have. Download a utility called CPU-Z from http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php and tell us specifics, unless you already know them.

But once CPU-Z is open, click on the about tab, click Registers Dump, save the txt file to your desktop, open that, copy the info from there, submit it to a file storage account (like geocities), and place a link to it here. Then open the control panel, go into device manager, expand Display Adaptors, and tell us what's listed underneath.

Otherwise, if you have the info already handy, we need to know what you already have before we can tell you if upgrading is worth it:

Motherboard (brand, model):
CPU (brand, model):
Memory (brand, model, # of modules):
Video (brand, model):
Power Supply Wattage (should be on the side):

In general the ideal memory to have is two identical 512MB DIMMs or two identical 1024MB DIMMs. Very few techs will tell you to use four DIMMs in a dual channel system.
