They have not even begun building it and still argueing about what to name it?


Still a good 10-20 years before they can finish re-establising it. I'm sure by then someone will have come up with a more dull name.

Kinda depends on how you look at the name.  Is it the " 1, world trade center," which makes no sense if there is no '2, world trade center.'  Or is it the "[b]One World (!) trade center," implying that whole dreaded one world goverment, one world currency thing?

How about just calling it "The World Trade Center?"

Oh, I know.  Still, if there is no "Tower 2" then calling it "Tower 1" is just a marketing ploy, designed to build on the sympathy and sorrow of 9/11 the same way the "Freedom Tower" tried to build on fickle American patriotism.  And we are talking about the name of the building, not the address.
EDIT  Also, if looking at it the way the buildings were named BEFORE 9/11, it would be "World Trade Center 1," not "One World Trade Center."  That tends to lend credence to my second, more paranoid, suggestion.

5 years maybe. Burj Dubai which is a good 300m (60%) taller only took 5 years.
