Last time I checked Alcohol was terrible when it was illegal and who knows what you could get. Since being legalized the quality has risen significantly. If anything weed would be available in all sorts of qualities and such if its ever legal.

Well, it's a give and take thing.
On the one hand, Obama has said that he won't intervene on states deciding to legalize pot. So he does respect states' rights unlike Bush.
On the other hand, he's saying that legalizing pot won't stimulate the economy. He's probably right about that.
I think legalizing pot isn't about stimulating the economy. It's about freeing up prison space and law enforcement resources while eliminating a market for criminals.
