I just asked my dad "What would think if converted to Islam?" He responded with "Where would you be living?"

He claims to have no problem with homosexuality. He seems to be telling the truth on that one. He has gay friends and a gay niece that he shows much love towards.

Oh, I don't actually want to convert to Islam. It was hypothetical. The only situation when I would care to convert would be to marry someone who's family required it. Somehow I don't see myself getting too involved with a hard core Muslim girl.

I was raised in a pretty hardcore Catholic household, got baptized/first communion/confirmed, attended Catholic school through 10th grade, all that jazz but have since gone atheist, so I know they wouldn't care at all.

My Mum & Dad wouldn't be concerned. Not too sure about the religious ones, I've no doubt it'd raise an eyebrow but I doubt I'd be excluded from anything. Wider family consists largely of churchgoing Christians who are, like the majority of Christians, good non-judgemental people.

There are a few way for me to get disowned though. 1) Get addicted to drugs of any form or get caught using class a drugs. 2) Join the US Army/USMC (afaik that's possible if you become a citizen). 3) Join the Labor Party.
