This might not be about religion. It could be that the husband doesn't want to pay his ex spousal support so the the lazy ass can sit at home. She might be using the home school angle to tell the judge that she can't work because of home schooling just so she can get money out of the husband. In this case home schooling might be a luxury that the family can't afford once the divorce is final, so get a job and the kids are off to public school. Who knows, "her" decision to home school instead of work might have lead to finacial hardship and the end of the marriage.
The real world is cruel, get out and work.
