Wait could you explain this in greater detail? From my understanding of your post, the woman wouldn't be able to get into the secure areas but pizza men would? Any particular reason the pizza men were so successful?usmarine wrote:
this reminds me of a drill we ran back in 96 (no we did not know about it). our unit (guarding "strategic weapons") was subjected to a test by the special forces group from fort lewis. tests included pizza guys, hot chicks in bars, ect. sadly no matter what your security measures are, pizza guy gets thru. this should be a wake up to all forces. no delivers of any sort without being "raped" per say.
no its not about secure areas..... that would not happen. but, if you were digging for info or access to a decent amount of troops...Macbeth wrote:

Did the men not tell the woman info because they were trying to play the part to sleep with them or where they actually genuinely suspicious?
Every soldier always came when the pizza arrived right? So that's why they had wider access to troops.
What other kinds of groups where used to test you guys?
I find this a really interesting social experiment.
I sometimes have to edit, since I think faster then I type.

New generation wants to kick everything off again, mix that in with the fact that most people these days are even worse than they were back then and ....no shit it's going to kick off again
Sadly this seems to be the case. The new generation's hostility towards each other is crazy. I was with a friend driving up and down some areas that are very pro-Catholic and then driving up an area very pro-Protestant - you could honestly feel the hate. And see the graffiti.Mekstizzle wrote:

I'm sure there is a connection between this and M15 quarters being built here too.

I don't think the British Security Service would encourage domestic terrorism tbh.
Whoa... Can't believe these forums are still kicking.

One incident won't upset the peace process. However, if this is the start of a new wave of attacks, then, well...shit. In a word.
I really hope this(I think it is) is just a very small group that knows this code and would try "spur" other, sympathisers to a cause that is long dead. The timing couldn't be more wrong on the southern side of things, as Monaghan Military Barracks was recently closed down. So if need be, there wouldn't be readily avalable military personell for checkpoints; although I will say this would be a very extreme thing to do, I'm sure the police in NI are doing all they can and will catch the perpetrators.New Reports wrote:

Although with any luck Army patrols wouldn't be needed on the South side as the Gardai should be able to cope, where I currently am the Guards are useless though.

Security guards protecting Solders. That statement is so absurd. What the fuck where they thinking. This country has came along way. But dropping your guard when the Dissident Republican threat is still there. Plus not one loyalist gun has been decommissioned.FatherTed wrote:

Also the intelligence services had placed the security services on "high alert" which means an attack is imminent. When intelligence says this, you would think Army bases etc would lock down. And put some bread in the toaster if hungry.
What is worrying is that the Real IRA have tried this kind of shit before, but they failed miserably. Either experienced members of the IRA have joined them or they are learning quickly. They are signaling that they wish to start the war again. I don't think they have the support that the IRA had. Though I was told last night that they Real IRA have a political wing with 20 000 ppl in it. That's 20 000 potential recruits. And even worse is that's potentially 20 000 parents poisoning their kids minds with sectarian bullshit.

But the army has (bigger) guns (and they're well trained) so stop things happening. /IdiotLotta_Drool wrote:

i saw a statement from some top brass about that, they said they didnt want to fire into a group of 5 soldiers close together, shows you how well trained these security guards were. But what i wondered was why did they have security guards? everytime i have been up to Pallace Barracks (holywood) they have always had MP's (not members of parliment) guarding the base. i still cant get over this story tbh, the rest of the engineer regiment have been flowen out to Afghanistan today as well. Thoughts are with them.FatherTed wrote:

I'm pretty sure the various amnesties are long closed, so hopefully these characters will go down for murder.
It would be interesting to know what they are trying to achieve at this point, makes no sense to me.

Trying to make themselves and their ideas relevant again by sparking a crackdown from the UK govt. Dilbert.
Just a guess though.
I mean the Real IRA, not the security guards.

However being stopped for no reason by a spotty 18year old English squaddie while they insult you and Chuck the contents of your car onto the street does. Or hovering a Lynx helicopter 4m off your roof and shinning lights through your skylight window shaking half the tiles of your roof while your trying to bone the missus, does.
I don't think we are going to see the kind of militarisation of 15 years ago anytime soon as that would set the peace process back to zero. Unfortunately that is what these people want. Hopefully good intelligence will win the day. That's why I defended the redeployment of Spec Ops troops. They are here to gather intelligence which can hopefully be used to prosecute these ppl. They could therefore prevent full scale deployment.
