From Home Owners who can't afford their mortgages..

I understand it's your duty to perform the sheriff sales of properties and to kick those of us who haven't been paying our bills our. But my family and I have nowhere else to go. I understand that the house is owned partially by the bank, but I didn't foresee my job of 12 years laying me off or cutting my salary. I’m frantically trying to find a new job with an income that can pay my bills but the jobs out there aren't paying a fraction of what I use to make. If I don't pay my car bill or insurance I will be locked up and I need spending money just to go onto interviews and to eat. I've noticed on the side of your cars it read "to protect and serve" and that's all I’m asking you to do. Please during this time of need I ask you to perform your duties to the people that your suppose to be protecting and make sure that I and more importantly my family don't end up homeless. After all we're the ones who pay the taxes that pay your salary and sooner or later you'll be seeing the pay cuts and have someone else knock on your door to evict you from your property..

So once again Please see it in your heart to not kick me out of my house where I"ve lived and made into my home..

Unless there is a new development, the police that aren't evicting people are the renters that paid their rent, but the landlord wasn't paying the mortgage on the building.

Unfortunately, they are protecting the serving. They are protecting and serving businesses, banks, industry and market, but not the people who seem to need it most. I agree that what they are doing is morally questionable, but I'm not sure you can blame the police officers for executing orders in an attempt to save their own government jobs for as long as possible.

Well, you work in the industry. I think it took a long time for you guys to realize that the average person was getting a raw deal.

Yeah but if they keep on evicting, the taxes aren't going to get paid.. Forcing the taxes of people who are still maintaining to go up, making more people foreclose, it's a horrible catch 22 we're in.. Whose going to knock on the Police Officers door to eventually kick them out?

Yes I work in this industry and I saw problem with it since day one.. I'm pretty sure early on, in this board I"ve spoken up against it? Not sure and too lazy to look.. But while the property values where going up, even people making 30k a year with a mortgage they couldn't afford where holding on and even making money with properties..

I'm a Banker/Broker, it's not my money that I'm lending.. I'm only following the guidelines of people and when they're not lending money(even when it make sense) I have to find other ways to make income. I'm on the side of the consumer, it's just that I'm the one who knows what the guidelines are. Now being on the inside and having to say no to people for silly reasons is tough..

And I do believe that our system will crash if they do not think of a good solution that addresses the needs of the consumers ( like me ) who are massively upside down and have little motivation to try ( other than the fear of never getting a loan again ) and the lenders who are saying in effect " a deals a deal, and you signed the paper bitch ".

btw, I appreciated you taking time out to offer advice to me on how to deal with my situation.

Is it the cops that evict people? I thought they usually just send in a couple of bailiffs with baseball bats, and you either move out or your entire family has their skulls bust in.

Well the solution is simple..

1. raise rates, yes I know that raising rates doesn't seem to be a good idea but hey when I say the second part of it, it will actually make sense
2. Lower principle.. Ok with rates raised banks will still make there money on the loans, even if the loan amount is less. The payments on these home loans haven't really changed that much remember that property values where driven up with the cheapness of money. an 9% on a 100k loan is the same payment as a 5% on a 350k loan.

Sure the banks won't make as much with people not staying in the homes.. The only real reason the higher amount benefits the bank is for short term gain.  If you take both the amounts, you hold onto the lower amount with the higher rate over a 30 year term the bank actually makes more money on the loan size. The higher amount with the lower interest rate will pay the bank more on a short scale term.

County sherrifs or marshalls enforce evictions, and no bassball bats are involved.
Little johnies precious skull is safe if you are in foreclosure.

The police officers have only limited choice in how they exercise their duties. If they are ordered to help evict someone they will likely have little choice.

The changes that may be needed to prevent a mass eviction will have to happen further up the political spectrum.

I wouldn't be surprised if we have a larger scale Waco on our hands.. With these tent cities all over the place, I would actually be really compassionate if they build up a free self sub staining society. If you have no where else to go, why not build your own housing..
