So I've looked around on the internet and done the basics. I ran the 1.41 patch, set the game to XP compatibility mode, and run as administrator. So far nothing has worked...I still keep getting this error.

I'm running Vista 32 Home edition. Any help would be appreciated.

Solution for BF2142: I play it everynight, the solution about punkbuster not having OS privilages is you need to disabled UAC, and it wont crash again. Go to Control panel/ User Accounts, very bottom says Dsiable or enable UAC, just tick it off..and you need to restart.

also
did you try d/l punkbuster to your computer... then update it from the folder in pb folder from bf2 or bf2142

Well, I run the game on Vista 32 but I was advised NOT to run as XP, althhough running as admin is a must.
So, just switch off compatibility mode but run as admin and hopefully everything'll be fine...

Otherwise I advise you to completely and [url=http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=43130]manually[/url] uninstall the game.
