Well my hard drive broke, since i had warrenty i got a new one but a different model. I got sent a            seagate barracuda (refurbished), but it makes these loud clicking noises when it reads and writes also makes an odd high frequency beep infrequently.

I have heard other hard drives make these sounds but nothing compared to this.
I have used the seagate tool to check my hard drive and it passed.

I ignored it during the day bc it does not run when i play bf2 but when i download defrag at night, my hard drive makes me insane definetly the loudest part of my computer even if i put all my fans on max speed.

So can someone who have a seagate barracuda tell me if my hard drive is not broken (i am sure its not but to have something to the guy when i ask for mine to be replaced)

Contact the company again and ask them about it. They might have sent you another (pre) dud. I don't remember any hard drive making beep noises...and older drives are usually the loud ones.

Newer drives have diagnostic beeps.

Any click sound means its dead.  Toss it and buy another if they wont warranty it, HD's are cheap.

Wouldnt worry too much, my last Seagate used to sound like a plane taking off followed by someone hitting the side of my case with a toffee hammer... there just plain noisy drives. WD and Maxtor r nice and quiet if it gets annoying
