Now, i like movies, and i especially like 'true to the story/source material' movies. And what can be better than a graphic novel (properly) made into a film, i loved Sin City and i'm destined to love Watchmen. I've literally forced myself not to comb the internet for information about the film, i've just relied on watching the trailer(s) and reading the odd bit of information about progress on the film. Unfortunately Watchmen has got caught up in a legal studio rights battle but from everything i read about that, it shouldn't impact on the film nor its release date (i'm fucking praying to the movie gods on this).
I've never really been one to get caught up in the growing hype over a film, but Watchmen has produced its own kind of hype. It isn't hyped to the mainstream viewers because i don't think a complex, layered story, nearly three hours long, with extremely diverse characters and a true vision of what the Moore novel should look like as movie, will attract that kind of customer. I may well be wrong, but for someone like me who wants to absorbed by the movie, i can't. fucking. wait. I'm almost pissing my pants now over this.
