[L4D] Recording

So I've been recording demos lately and playing them back while recording with Fraps.

I can either do half size capped at 60FPS, or full size at 40FPS. But 40FPS makes the video appear laggy if you've played L4D before.

What size do you think I should record at?

To be honest

It should work in l4d see'ing how its a steam game also. Idk for sure tho.

shit...are you serious? i already got rid of a lot of good demo files and only have the .mp4s from them in half size because i decided to use that. well, better late than never, thanks for the link.

edit: actually never mind, that way looks extremely roundabout and i end up with a 640x480 file.

You should cause it takes targa's which can be full 1280x1024 pictures just stitched together into video.... Thats why most css videos are 1280x720

well i'll upload a sample, and i'll see how it looks on youtube (recorded with fraps, half size). half of my resolution is 840x525 which looks pretty good, even expanded to full screen.

i will try that targa stitching method though, by your advice.

I think it looks best on WeGame.

Vimeo wasn't as HQ as WeGame, and on Youtube, it was awful.

Wipido isn't even playing other videos for me, much less taking my upload, so I have no idea what the quality is like there.
