Yup, but expensive too, ouch!
Who the hell would buy a dell PC? They are waaaaaaaaaay overpriced. Build your own it’s a lot cheaper and more fun
Yeah - WOW - what fun! Better than sex!Kobrakai wrote:

Seriously though, isn't this DELL computer a quad-SLI? Are there actually quad SLI motherboards available?
yeah there is a gigabyte one, not sure of the others, even though its dell, it's extremely impressive, one massive letdown is it has 2gb of ram when it has 2gb of video ram so you're gonna have a little shortage, and the other bad thing is anyone with one of these's e-penis is bigger then mine
i knew it dell is trying to steal my chicks with there quad sli

It still only has 512 of video RAM, each card still has to render the same textures. Adding that up, would be like adding up both 2.2Ghz cores of an AMD dual core, it doesn't work that way..ACB|_Cutthroat1 wrote:

thats like the #1 reply i always get from a dell post.Kobrakai wrote:

rofl
Who the hell would want quad SLI? You're going to be stuck with proprietary drivers, and the damn cards would become out of date the minute dual-core GPU's overwhelm the shelves.
thats how technology is fella
Thank you, Captain Obvious, but do you honestly think motherboards will standardize into four PCIe16 slots a piece, or that many people will be willing to drop $2000+ on the amount of video cards required to fill it? It's more likely that GPU's will resort to multi-core cell technology before that happens.Maj.Do wrote:

What would you rather do? Get a ~$7000 PC with four 7800's now, or wait awhile and get a ~$2500 one with two 8800's? I don't know about you, but I would much prefer the DX10 support over a stack of 7800's, particularly when the G80's will be out so soon from now.

i didnt say i was getting it lol. Im good with my computer right now (cant bring to dorm to big..damn laptop).
I would be interested in a mutli core gpu but the cpu would be a bottleneck. same with the xps

I know you didn't, but I was using you as an example. Watch for the quad-core CPU's later this year (or early next year, whichever). That bottleneck will disappear.Maj.Do wrote:

Dude I'm getting a Dell.
PS: topal63 everyone is not techno savey like us, so they do not know how to build a PC or they do not have the time.

ask the guy at the shop to build it for u... they always do here in taiwan . building a pc is easy, go to www.newegg.com and it will teach u how to assemble a pc. every1 has the time to build a pc... takes around 30 minsdubbs wrote:

If you noticed the work US as in you, and me. Not short for the United States. As in first person plural, not third person singular. Did you notice that???? Also, it takes longer then 30 mins. Average time to install Windows, if you use that OS, is an hour.cyborg_ninja-117 wrote:

If it takes you 30 mins to build a PC, just hardware, what are you doing? Choking the chicken?? Did you have to ask your mommy or daddy to help you screw in a screw. When I was learning about PC, how to take them apart and rebuild them, it took only 15 mins to completely take one apart, and put it back together with a manual screw driver. Yes, all of the screws were in the correct spot and none were left over. It also worked when I powered on. Not everyone has time to build a PC. If you work 12 hours a day, sleep 8 hours, that leaves only 4 hours to do other things. That is not counting that most people drive 15 to 30 min. to work. (That is a low guess. I know some people who drive 3 hours to work.) That will take away another 30 mins to an hour. Some people do not what to learn how to build a PC. Ask your mom, or grandparents if they want to learn how to build a PC, and do it by themselves.
Oh yeah, PCs built in Taiwan are usally manufactured. That means Dell, Gateway, IBM, or (Insert brand here) that you order. Most computer shops will not build a custom PC for you, at least at a decent price. They have to pay for labor, that is why companies like Dell cost more. Most PC shops that do create custom parts usally give you older parts, like Pentium 2/3s and 128Mbs of RAM, 2 GB of HD space, and no OS so that they can keep cost down to competite with companies like Dell.
BTW, before you try to speak down to someone, make for sure you completely read each word in the post and fully understand what they are saying. That will make it easier for the rest of us. (Not the United States, fyi)
Why are you attacking the guy? He never said anything about the US, as in United States, he said they build them in the shops for you in Tawain. He's simply stating anyone can learn it, if you're going to be upgrading, like most gamers do, you need to learn about the building aspect of it. He never spoke down to anyone, and then you go and belittle him, and tell him he should understand what is written in the post, oh the irony hurts so bad.dubbs wrote:

my god ur sig is awesome Psycho, also to unnamed newbie, do u think the gigabyte dual core 7800 is any good?
Are there any games the could come close to putting a dent in that thing?
First he quoted me, then stated u.... This means that he was speaking to me, dubbs, not the general person. That is why I did it.psychotoxic187 wrote:

I'm only stating that they do it in taiwan, not the USA... not sure about the US, installing the OS isnt considererd hard, no manual work involved except for the enter button. You stated that dell cost more since they need the labour to build PC's... It takes a machine 2 second to insert CPU, Heatsink and that kind of shit. It takes 10-15 mins to get mobo part done, 10-20 mins to install to the case, add PSU and HDD's. Installing Windows does NOT take 1 hour, took around 30 min for my pc...dubbs wrote:

@Maj.Do - I think you're better off with a plain old NV7900, ATI1900 or something from the upcoming NV G80 line (might as well invest in DX10 support)psychotoxic187 wrote:
