I have tried searching but found nothing of any use.

So heres the porblem. Recently (the past few days) when i join bf2 servers i get kicked within 10 seconds for having a high average ping, that is usually around 400-500.
I have ruled out my pc, although it is to blame for the constant glitching and crashing i am subjected to (before the ping issue).

To help you help me:

- I'm using AOL 9.0 broadband connected to a usb modem through a filter via the phone socket.
- I am the only user
- Nothing is being downloaded while playing (to my knowledge)
- No other programmes that use the internet are opened while playing
- Before entering servers the average ping is always checked, and is usually around 70.
- I have already cleaned up internet files etc
- Recent virus scan also completed (no virsuses found by Norton)
- I have re-installed the game. USELESS.

If anyone could thnk of any reason why my internet is such a useless twat, and if there is any way to sort this problem i would be very grateful.

There is an issue with my CPU i think, being that while running ONLY the internet it uses 100% of its power and then suddently drops to zero, then goes back to 100% and either its extremely inefficient,  and/or totally fucked. Whether this is affects my internet connection is beyond me.

Anyone know whats going on?

A USB modem is hardly adequate for anything other than playing online solitaire and checking e-mail. Find an internet service provider that offers DSL or cable (or FI-OS if you can afford it).

It was fine last week, i had about 20-30 ping on Uk servers. It has just suddenly decided to fail.

AOL... Ew.

Can we get a screen shot of the process list? And which process is causing the spike? Also need computer specs

Try disabling Norton

EDIT: Try unplugging your modem from the wall and your computer for a few minutes, restart computer, plug everything back in
