If he did shoot one or more unarmed prisoners, then he should be expecting to spend most of the rest of his life in a prison.

You live in a democracy right? He has different opinions to yours. Get over it. I find it hard to believe that he donates to AQ, furnishes them with safehouses, helps with recruiting dumb young men to blow themselves up or helps them build bombs. That is what I'd constitute as support.
