First thou shalt purchase Empire: Total War. Then, shalt we use Steam, no more, no less.
Steam shalt be the system that shalt be used, and the system of using shall be Steam.
Limited install shalt not be used, nor either any other system, excepting that thou must proceed to Steam.
SecuROM is right out.
Once the system Steam, being the only system, and the game be installed, then lobbest thou thy CD or DVD of Empire:Total War towards thy bin, if thou wishest it, being not needed in your drive, and thou shalt play it.

I can't seem to successfully board and capture another ship. They become entangled, I see some of my men board, but not long after the ships just break apart and the masts all fall.

I've tried crippling all enemy ships just so I can board the last one and I never can capture it.

1GB RAM (For XP, 2GB if using Vista)

those are the minimum

i would imagine you would be fine on medium. i'm only a bit ahead of you and i can play it on ultra

The more I look into this game the more enthusiastic I become. Although I am slightly confused about the release date, some sources say March, others April. Which is the official?

And if any of you want to get a group together to play regularly once the game is released I would be more than willing to set something up.
