Charged as an adult.
I don't understand why you have those legal definitions which determine court sentencing and then just throw them out the window cause the crime was excessive. He is still eleven years old (although in the UK thats old enough to be a father so wtf do I know?).

So what makes a kid take his "kid shotgun" to kill the girl? Second who the hell make the shotguns for kids? The weapon was a youth model 20-gauge shotgun, designed for use by children, that belonged to the boy, according to investigators."
It gets better, he won a price for shooting with it on Valentines dayZukabazuka wrote:

When state police troopers asked Chris Brown if he recognized a youth-model .20-gauge shotgun, he not only recognized it, he said his son used it to win a turkey shoot on Valentine’s Day, according to a police report.

11 year old kid owning a shotgun?
The closest ive ever come to holding a real firing weapon is a paintball marker

Why are you guys focusing on the gun and not the crime?
I would agree that charging a minor as an adult is wrong, but this kid deserves to be in jail for at least 15 to 20 years. Maybe by his late 20s, he'll be a different person.

No kidding. OMG he had a shotgun!!! The kid's got issues, but don't blame the gun.Turquoise wrote:

Nobody blamed the gun. People are just wondering why would they make child version shotguns. I don't think this child should ever be released. Prison will make him a worse person and he will lack many years of social skill building. Best to just lock him up forever.DBBrinson1 wrote:

As to the child's fate? Dunno. I wonder if his state has laws regulating the storage of firearms. If so, daddy could be in for some trouble.

an 11 year old should not have uncontrolled access to a firearm.
yay, more poor parenting.

youth shotguns are for teaching younger people how to shoot and how to be responsible with them. they're also popular with smaller people and a lot of women.
why the hell would he be allowed unsupervised access to it? bunch of bullshit.
back OT:
why did he shoot her? any indication?

She prolly took away his pokemons or something.
I don't think he should ever be released. I don't want someone that fucked up back in society.

It's truly sad how often it ultimately boils down to that.

Will the forensics find a copy of GTA, or a Death Metal CD in his bedroom, because we all know that videogames provoke this kind of behavior?
Well, when I first opened the thread to read I figured I was going to be reading how it was because of the unborn baby itself. As in the kid was feeling jealous/worried about the new baby taking his stuff and attention. But I don't really know.krazed wrote:

Sadly, I think you've predicted the angle that the media will take on this. Either that, or more gun control bullshit.Axatar wrote:

why the fuck would a little kid need a hunting rifle? that said I place blame on the father for not properly securing his kid's damn gun.

Reminds me of the family guy episode with the NRA and Petey the Pistol -"sqeeze me and I make bad people go away." Remeber, children gun incidents occur becuase we don't introduce our children to them at an early enough age haha.

It was a shotgun, not a rifle, so there's nothing to worry aboutHurricane2k9 wrote:

Really, you already answered your own question.
OH NOES! Kids with guns!...Just like the past 300 years!
There was a time in the US that high schoolers could bring their shotguns and rifles to school, and no one freaked out! It's not the access to firearms that is causing these problems.
If the kid had access to a shotgun, the parents must be holding a whole heap of the blame on this one.
Regarding crimes committed by an 11 year old; you shouldn't be able to disregard age just because you want to.
