I saw it from 'sniper school' series
Dang nice shot. How did you even see the guy in the first place...
We had all flags so the commander dropped UAV over there (attacking the carrier was allowed on that server when you have all flags), so i placed myself somewhere 900-1000 m away, full zoom in the mapview over the carrier so i could place the attack marker accurately in middle of a standstill target... aimed and fired 3 bullets... BOOM HS!!pinkie_slapepd wrote:

You can do this in action from anywhere, even on Karkand..... longest i did on Karkand was 500 m (from behind Gate House as MEC to US Spawnpoint, where the MG is, i can record this shot aswell if anybody wants to see? ), you can do these shots on any map (easiest is Wake ofcourse because there is not much buildings to stop your bullet), all you need to do is this:
1. Watch the UAV and look for campers / infantry that stand still
2. When you found a guy who stands still, think first about where he is located before placing the attackmarker... knowing the map like you made it is very important , because he could be inside a building, behind a building, behind a tree? rock? sandbag? and so on... so you can make sure nothing hinders your bullet, its all about positioning!
3. When you did all this above and found the correct target, zoom on mapview (full zoom) and then place the marker exactly in middle of that red dot and now shoot at the hilt of the sword (somewhere in the middle of that sword for a body/headshot, aim low if he is crouching/proning, you will sometimes fire pretty many bullets until you found where you record a hit, this is where the need of experience comes in)
This is how you do it alone, but with a Spotter everything is much more easier.
Sniper School VIII explains and shows this very well aswell, i recommend everyone to watch it:
