I think the lack of the registered trademark logo is the strangest one. I mean, if they are just copy and pasting the image something must have been done purposefully to exclude it.

Another thing I noticed, in the background of the update hub, it shows Mercury's winged sandal as the scout's insignia. However the insignia on the mile-stone achievables is a baseball.

I do however have a funny feeling that Valve might be playing a "Paul is dead" style conspiracy, where they invent a fake conspiracy and give little clues, only for it to be completely not true.
