4) Installed the patch, attempted to play the game and now I cannot log in I get The uniquenick provided is incorrect.
5) I cannot recreate I cannot add it I cannot do nothing.  All my unlocks and hours of stats are down the toilet  anyone have any idea what to do?
EXACTLY what happened to me too. I was able to retrieve my account in Gamespy, but it still won't recognize it in the game. Also, since making Lance Corporal with a new name, the game has promoted me in-play to full Corporal twice after only an hour or so of playing, yet its not showing up in my BFHQ, which it shouldn't because I haven't got enough points yet, but it keeps teasing me with the drum roll and announcement that I've been promoted - which I haven't. I'm mostly pissed I lost my unlocks.

an update: i gave my name and password to a friend for him to try to get in just for the hell of it.  he tired to log in repededtly he FINALLY GOT IN after about 50 or so tries  HOWEVER my account got reset to zero. so the good news is i can play with the same name, the bad news is i have to start over GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRrr

I used to think Konami had the worst tech support for their games, now i have to move EA up to the top of that list.

OK, here is another victim. I started BF2 up as usual to find my password was no longer prefilled. Since I could not remember it anymore, I tried to reset it via manage accounts. No luck. BF keeps on giving me 'The password you provided is incorrect'. I sent this issue to gamspy and they replied me to contact EA which I just did. I hope that I have more luck than you guys and will post any positive outcome here again.

<edit>It appeared to be that I had two Gamespy-accounts with two different e-mail addresses. I used the wrong address to retrieve a new password. Both Gamespy and EA gave me default answers with solutions I already tried. Basically it was my own fault after all...   </edit>
