Every Aussie here knows that you get fires every year in Australia. It's just been unusually hot weather leading up to this one. That doesn't mean we have to yell terrorism. It's a few arsonists and naturally occurring fires.

Green, healthy, vegetation/forest, burn slower and thus allow firefighters time to control the blaze.

Dead, ill, wild vegetation/forests burn fast and furiously.
Um... the healthier the trees are here, the better they burn...

Seriously, once the fires here reach a certain size, there isn't much you can do. The ember attacks will jump any backburns or firebreaks.
