Shouldn't matter, but the others aren't really useful. When you press the benchmark key, does your FPS turn green?

then again it not like you really need any more than a minimum of 49 fps... a average of 70 is perfectly playable.

do you guys bench on single or multiplayer? Itns known that multiplayers are usually less demanding to ensure lag free gameplay....

edit: only proper way to bench on cod 4 is all chillied up map as its the most demanding...

#1, <70 is too laggy for me, and,
#2, I want the 125 FPS bug.

That's odd, as your screen doesn't receive data more than 60 times a second.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP

this ^

(unless it's a CRT with a higher refresh rate than 60Hz, but you'ld probably know that if you had a monitor like that)

No, it doesn't send data faster than 60 times a second.

But that is irrelevant, because the game images do not change more than like 20 times per second. Let's not start this debate again. I can notice a very distinct difference between 60FPS and >100FPS, and if you can't then you've either never tried or you're retarded.

I know exactly what you mean CrazeD.

What gfx card do you have? Have you heard about issue called stuttering? It is that weird lag although the fps seems to be perfectly fine. That is most noticable at under 70fps like you said. Usually it is issue with multi-GPU solutions, often having issue called micro-stuttering. But in rare cases it can affect single gpu cards too.

Stuttering (like panzer said) =/= low FPS. If I don't run VSync'd, I get really bad stuttering in even BF2. And that's on a fucking 260GTX.

AMD X2 4800+ @ 3.0GHz
2x2GB G.Skill DDR2 1000 @ 1000MHz
HD4850 @ stock

Wouldn't this stuttering occur at all FPS though? I'm not the only one that experiences this, several of my clan mates and other people I play with agree with me completely that <100 FPS is laggy.

Also I have the AMD dual core optimizer that is supposed to fix that stuttering shit.

here is waht the stuttering is about. Both of the big companies ATi and nVIDIA pretty much ignore the existence of this issue.

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/screensh … es-L4D.png

The bigger the spike is, the more laggy it is... X2 being totally unplayable in this scenario.

edit: due to nature that every frame is different, the stuttering will never be completely away, but it is usually impossible to notice it when using single GPU.

Stuttering is awesomely random. You'll notice the difference in that stuttering just appears some times, just all of a sudden. Especially when moving fast. If your FPS meter is reporting 60FPS, and you think it's going slow, it's also stuttering.

Well I get no stuttering whatsoever at 125 FPS. It's silky smooth. In any case, <100 is laggy and I want the 125FPS perks. So. Idc.

I think it's more to do with CoD4 than any of these stuttering issues. When I play high graphics it goes under 125 in big firefights, or grenades, airstrikes, whatever, but never goes below 60fps. You can see the difference then. But if you cap your FPS at 60, and play for maybe half an hour, you don't notice the difference whatsoever.

Although I never notice any difference from 60-125+ fps on any other game.. it's just a cod4 anomaly I suppose.

I notice it on BF2 and WaW too. GRID and Oblivion aren't as bad though, I'm perfectly happy with 50-60 FPS there.
