Ok, so I'm lovin (almost) everything about windows 7. Problem though. Whenever I stream video youtube.. stickcam etc.. I lose my connection. I have to run the troubleshooter which essentially means it resets my connection and refreshes my IP. That takes care of it up until I try stream video again. I'm on verizon fios and I'm using my laptop on the same connection (vista) no problem. Any ideas? The PC in question is wired. All my drivers are up to date. It has been doing this since the install.

I've had no problems at all, I find it is a little slow on rare occasions but I've never been disconnected. I have actually seen my average download speed double since switching.

It's weird. I had a wireless card in there but I disabled it. I finally took the whole thing as to not confuse it.. still no go.

It only happens when I stream video.

Any chance you can try it on another connection? Like, if you have a laptop, go to a wifi hotspot and see what that gets you.

You have a router?  Pretty sure you do if you said you had wireless card you disabled.  Maybe check the IP's on all your computers and make sure they aren't doubled up.  It may be happening because they are using the same IP and it only becomes a problem when 1 computer hogs the bandwith.

Yes, I'm typing on my vista laptop (which is wireless) right now. Usually it's the wireless that gives ppl trouble. Not the wired one..lol.

No, it does this with the laptop shut down also. I also had no problems running both machines when the system was on vista.

I'm sure it is. I'll check but I believe the default is yes.

You can change it to the 100mbps full duplex and try that, or whatever the slowest hardware is.

Seems like an odd thing to do considering this was working fine as is coming from a vista upgrade. Again, only streaming video. I can actually download files at 50meg without issue from the newsgroups.

What files are you dow...nevermind!

It is one of the most common failure/loss of connection reasons.  Your network card will auto detect more than once.  Setting it to a hard number makes it think less.

Knowing that it works downloading wipes that idea out.

Those are the only things I can think of.

I'm leaning more to a driver compatabilty issue. The only change was to windows 7. Windows is telling me everything is up to date but I'm going to verify at nvidia  (my board manufactuer).

Solved. Updated my board drivers after the install. Even though they were up to date prior to the install .
