Don't shed too many tears yet for our old cats! In may cases planes are retired from active duty, but sent to reserve squadrons & Air National Guard units. So, they might see a few more years.
Remember back in '86 when a couple of Cats downed those Lybian fighters? I was sporting my "Any Time, Any Place - come and get it, Khadaffi, baby!" T-shirt. Had a pig graphic of a Cat on the back with a burning Mig. This Middle Eastern guy (probably Lybian) came up to me out of the blue and says "In my country - you would executed for wearing that shirt." I said - "That's why your in MY country."
Of course, it could have been the desert camo - chocolate chip BDUs I was wearing too.

Of course, I was just saying that it could added I think the latest ones in too... I guess the Tomcat is going to the last American Jet to get such a tribute as this... The only other American Jet Fighter to take such a title is going to be the F-16.airborne916 wrote:
