I quite enjoy playing as Commander, and have earned about 25% of my score as a Commander. With the new patch, like many others I have climbed a few steps in rank. A higher rank will, as we all know, give precedence over lower ranked players when applying to be a Commander.

But how exactly does the rank play in?

Is it rank alone that determines who becomes Commander? If so, how does the server select between two equally ranked candidates?

Or is rank combined with something else? Badges? Medals? Or perhaps the total score (in which case the rank itself actually does not matter since it is determined by the score)? Or is rank combined with Commander score or Commander time?

It would be fun to know how this works - does anyone know?

If you have 2 people same rank, who want to be comm', then it will be who ever has more points

That is interesting. If that is the case, rank itself does actually NOT determine precedence - score does. Any point you score will help towards becoming Commander.

It is strange, because BFHQ actually makes a point of this when you get a new rank. It says something along the lines of "A player with higher rank will..." But in fact, if it is Rank + Score that determines, it is actually Score alone.

(The only exception would be these days when people are migrating from 1.02 to 1.03. Only now is it possible for a player with higher score have a lower rank, but this should be a transient problem.)

I heard that, if two equal ranks apply, the server will choose the one who had the higher score in the last round.

Rank is really nothing but a pre-set value placed at specific points, a benchmark if you will. A person with an higher rank is selected over a lower rank because they have more points. If two people with exact same rank, points, etc, then I have no idea how it would go from there.

My guess is the stat server would explode.

From personal experience I would also tend to believe the theory that if two people with the same RANK apply, the one with the higher score from the previous round will get the position.
