Whatever... keep all your troops in the desert if they like it so much. But you can't babysit democracy in my opinion... not in the long run anyway.

I understand your viewpoint, Cam, but let's face it... We have a lot of bases in Iraq. It's not like we're just going to leave tomorrow.
This is probably going to be like a lot of other conflicts we've had. We'll keep a certain amount of troops in Iraq for the long haul.
The real question will be how long we'll maintain current troop levels. Drawing down levels to their necessary minimums would take something like 15 months. I'm not even sure if that process has begun yet.
