I guess lowing won't be happy until the middle east is a nuclear crater.

Can't make some people happy ever. If he decided to not give the interview and instead said some crazy shit about killing Muslims and launching Crusades you would be pissed about him costing American lives in Iraq and Afghanistan. Since he did give the interview he's appeasing them.

These posts are utter bullshit.  Bama give his first interview to Al Jizzer?  FFS.  I thank God most of you aren't Americans.  1 term president!

So on the 20th Obama was talking to the clouds? Amazing how some people on the right have turned into the same Bush maniacs that bitched about everything.

He has talked to me enough, I say go get shit done and that's what he is doing.

He has been talking to the American media since his campaign started what feels like 6 years ago. He didn't have the power to talk to the Arabs until now. The largest threat to America is in the Middle east (according to some), your armies are in two countries in the area. The majority of Middle eastern ppl see America as an aggressor. The Media outlet is based in a country which is your Alie yet the majority of the 9/11 hijackers came from. Seams to me these are exactly the ppl he should be talking about.
This is much more historical that talking to the American ppl. (He has laid out his plan in his campaign until we are sick hearing it)
I understand, but symbolically ( if for no other reason), he should be talking to his own people in his first interview as president, NOT the Arabs.
Ok. I guess it depends on what type of person you are. Some would see it as more historic that he has broke from tradition to reach out to a people, who previous governments have not. The fact he has granted his first interview to an Arab network also shows the Arabs that he is serious about helping the ME. He has turned something which is basically ceremonial and worthless (we all hear his campaign) into a useful first step. As an American, you should be proud your leader is being proactive.
I am proud of the leader that, regardless of opposition from the flip floppers , stuck to his guns and did what was right, close the rape rooms, the execution chambers of Saddam Hussein.

I can understand that, even though it's a terribly unpopular opinion to have these days, especially around here.

But as for the "apologist" thing, I disagree, and I think Red and others have a point. This may be a smart move. Start right out by talking to 'that part of the world' ; engage them and bring a more articulate message than they have seen from bush..
There are times when you take the hard line, and there are times when you need to talk; sometimes getting the right message across can solve so much more.
I'm not some sort of starry eyed obama freak, I'm watching him as objectively as I can -- but I don't see this as weak or apologist.

Take note of how the AQ fuckers have been acting recently, since he was elected

the article mentions it

The president reiterated the U.S. commitment to Israel as an ally and to its right to defend itself. But he suggested that both Israel and the Palestinians have hard choices to make.

"I do believe that the moment is ripe for both sides to realize that the path that they are on is one that is not going to result in prosperity and security for their people," he said, calling for a Palestinian state that is contiguous with internal freedom of movement and can trade with neighboring countries.

Obama also said that recent statements and messages issued by the al-Qaida terror network suggest they do not know how to deal with his new approach.

"They seem nervous," he told the interviewer. "What that tells me is that their ideas are bankrupt."

In his latest message on Jan. 14, al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden said Obama had been left with a "heavy inheritance" of Bush's wars.

Shortly after the election, the network's number two, Ayman al-Zawahri used a demeaning racial term for a black American who does the bidding of whites to describe Obama.

The message suggested the terror network was worried Obama could undermine its rallying cry that the U.S. is an enemy oppressor.

Good for him.
Since his predecessor thoroughly fucked over the ME for the last 8 years he needs to redress the balance.

Seems your fellow americans disagree, what with approval ratings and voting in a black democrat.

Quickly lowing nows your chance to make your point that his middle name is Hussein and that he addressed an arab network first!

therefore through complex equations and research.

Obama = terrorist.

or is that going to be your next thread?

Jesus give the guy a chance. his been in office like a week and your already saying his a bad president... hell you will never admit Bush was a bad president after 8 years of poor leading, pointless wars and financial turmoil.

First and fore most, you really need to stop quoting me out of context. I put a comma after the "stuck to his guns and did what was right" it did not end there with a period. You are arguing that the liberal that voted in Obama are not proud that America put and end to the rape rooms and execution chambers of Saddam. I would expect more for the peace at any price crowd.

MY fellow Americans, also voted in a celebrity, a rock star, someone who they think is going to pay off their bills and save the world as the second coming of Christ. They are star struck and will soon enough, come crashing down hard.

Any time I read lowing's stuff now, it's in Rush Limbaugh's voice.  Ever since he said liberals wanted terrorists to attack us again, I just can't help it, I hear Rush's voice.

Ending Saddam's tyranny wasn't even on the priority list, it was just a sop when Team Fuckwit realised the WMD ruse no longer flew.
If it were then why aren't nastier more destructive tyrannies being ended as we speak?

Ahhhhhh I see, so if we were attacked again, the liberals would never think to use that event against Bush and push further their agendas. Why do I not believe that?
